Information and Liability Provisions on the Online Payment of Third-Party Services

1. Purpose of These Provisions

The appointment booking system may provide users with the option to pay the consideration for services offered by a third-party service provider online, by electronic means, through the booking site.

Providing the online payment option is solely a technical and intermediary function. The operator of the Appointio.eu website is not considered the provider, reseller, or seller of the service provided by the third party, and does not become a contracting party to the service within the legal relationship between the parties involved in the payment transaction.

2. Parties Involved in the Payment

In the case of a payment initiated through the Appointio.eu website, the consideration for the service is paid directly between the third-party service provider and the user making the payment.

The operator of the booking site is not the seller or invoicing party of the service in the payment transaction, and assumes no liability for the content, quality, performance, or consideration of the service provided by the third party, or for any other conditions related to the use of the service.

3. Payment Service

The online payment may take place through the system of an external payment service provider offering the given payment solution (Teya Iceland hf.), independently of the operator of the Appointio.eu website.

The handling of payment data and the technical processing of the payment transaction take place in the payment service provider's system, in accordance with its own terms and data processing rules. The operator of the booking site does not guarantee the technical processing of the payment transaction and assumes no liability for the operation, availability, or possible errors of the external payment service provider.

4. Payment-Related Issues

Questions related to the payment transaction, its failure, interruption, rejection, refund, or any other issue shall primarily be settled between the user making the payment, the third-party service provider, and - where the issue relates to the operation of the payment system - the payment service provider concerned (Teya Iceland hf.).

The operator of the booking site is not liable in particular for:

  • the failure or unsuccessful completion of the payment transaction;
  • the operation of bank card or other electronic payment methods;
  • errors, outages, or unavailability of the payment service provider's system;
  • technical problems arising during payment, where they are caused by reasons outside the operator's scope of control;
  • the erroneous payment of the consideration for the service or problems arising from incorrect payment data provided by the user;
  • the payment, cancellation, refund, or other commercial terms defined by the third party;
  • claims arising from the non-performance or improper performance of the service provided by the third party.

5. Refunds and Disputes

Claims regarding the refund of the consideration for a service provided by a third party, as well as the cancellation, modification, omission, or improper performance of the service, must be settled by the user directly with the third-party service provider, unless otherwise provided by law or by a separate agreement concluded between the parties.

The operator of the Appointio.eu website is not a contracting party in such disputes and acts only on matters related to the operation of the system that fall within its own competence.

6. Liability of the Provider and the User

By initiating the payment transaction, the user acknowledges that the service they use is provided by the third party, and that the legal relationship concerning the payment of the consideration for the service is established between the user and the third party.

The third party is responsible for the lawful provision of its own service, for the performance of the service, for the proper handling of the consideration for the service, and for the payment, invoicing, cancellation, and refund terms it applies.

The user is responsible for the accuracy of the data they provide and for ensuring that, during the payment, they use their own payment instrument and the related data correctly.

7. Limits of the Operator's Liability

The operator of the Appointio.eu website takes all reasonably expected measures to ensure that the payment function related to the appointment booking works properly; however, it cannot guarantee the operation of the external payment service provider, the banking systems, or any other systems outside the operator's scope of control.

The operator is not liable for any damage, loss, cost, or other disadvantage arising from the service provided by the third party, from the operation of the external payment service provider, or from any technical or other cause outside the operator's scope of control.

This limitation of liability does not affect those cases where the limitation or exclusion of liability is expressly not permitted by applicable law.

8. Acceptance of This Information

By using the payment function, the user acknowledges that the online payment is made for the benefit of the third-party service provider, and that the operator of the Appointio.eu website is not a party to the legal relationship regarding the use of the service concluded between the user and the provider.

The user further acknowledges that questions related to the payment, the performance of the service, its cancellation, refund, or consideration must be settled directly with the third-party service provider, except for matters within the competence of the external payment service provider.
